Reception to mark the 48th ASEAN Day and the 40th Anniversary of the ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Partnership
The ASEAN Heads of Missions based in Wellington, namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines countries jointly organized a reception to mark the 48th ASEAN Day and the 40th Anniversary of the ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue Partnership in the evening of 11 July 2015 at the Royal Thai Embassy. It was a grand ASEAN day reception attended by attended by over 200 guests.
Aside from the diplomatic corps, government officials, MPs, local business and social organisations, senior NZ government officials and Honorable Members of Parliament (MP), Heads of Mission of ASEAN Dialogue Partners, Sectoral Dialogue Partner (Pakistan) and all Pacific Islands’ states in Wellington also attended. The Guest of Honour from New Zealand Government was represented by Honourable Tim Groser, Minister for Trade and Minister for Climate Change Issues. The Reception managed to raise awareness among the invitees regarding ASEAN and its objectives, as well as the 40th anniversary of the dialogue relationship between ASEAN and New Zealand. It was a good evening that allowed everyone to benefit from the various interactions between them, thereby raising ASEAN awareness and strengthening further the objective of reinforcing a people-centred ASEAN Community by 2015.
