The Japanese Film Festival is held annually, in order to encourage the growth of Japanese culture and understanding in New Zealand. Each year, we try to give the people of New Zealand some insight into the culture, customs, and traditions of Japan, alongside what is popular with Japan’s society today, through film.

This year, we are lucky enough to be holding the film festival in Wellington at the Hannah Playhouse! With six films over two days, you can see a wide range of genres that Japanese films have to offer. All films are in Japanese language with English subtitles.

Admission is free for all films, with booking required through the Hannah Playhouse Website.
