Farewell Function of Her Excellency Virginia H Benavidez

On the 16th of September at the Grand Century Restaurant, the Multicultural Council of Wellington and the NZ Police hosted the farewell function of Her Excellency Virginia H Benavidez, Ambassador of the Philippines. It was a privilege to host such a well attended event for an extraordinary person who has contributed immensely to so many communities in New Zealand. She has been a wonderful friend as patron to the Council and her generosity of spirit and contribution to the cause of sharing peace and love amongst the many cultural communities of our city will be treasured in all of our hearts. We will indeed stay in contact and will look forward to meeting her again both here in Wellington and in the Philippines. As a thank you for all that she has done, the Council and the NZ Police presented a portrait on behalf of the people of Aotearoa NZ.
